Information/FAQ

What is this page?
This page is where you can submit a reporting exemption for transparency reporting.
I submitted an exemption but my entity's status has not changed, why?
Exemptions are applied each time one of our analysts runs a "Compliance Report" - which typically occurs every Monday. We are working on getting this process automated to run each day, but until then you will have to wait for the next compliance report to propogate an entity status change.

Exemption Form

Note: Exemption Ranges must match the begining and ending of a quarter(s), otherwise the exemption will not apply correctly. If you request an exemption for compensation it should span the entire fiscal year (instead of a single quarter). Refer to the table below for the date range of each quarter:
Quarter Begin Date End Date
JAN-MAR 01/01 03/31
APR-JUN 04/01 06/30
JUL-SEP 07/01 09/30
OCT-DEC 10/01 12/31
Step 1: Select the Exemption Date Range
Step 2: Select the Exemption Type
Step 3: Select the Exemption Reason

Existing Exemptions

If you need an exemption deleted, please contact our team. Kramer McCausland (kmccausland@utah.gov) or Alex Nielson (alexnielson@utah.gov). If you use an exemption to maliciously circumvent the reporting process, then the State Auditor will immediately suspend all disbursements, expenditures, or payments by your entity until the correct reporting has occured (authorized by Utah Code 67-3-3). You will also lose access to this convenient tool, and have to email any exemptions to our team to manually approve.
